Krupala Sets New Personal Record at State

La Grange senior Cody Krupala capped of a great high school powerlifting career on March 22 at the THSPA state meet in Abilene, Texas. He competed in the 123 lb.

La Grange Tennis Update

The La Grange varsity tennis team competed in Navasota last week. Marissa Muras and Owen Westall made it to the 3rd round in singles before bowing out to players from Bryan Rudder. Riley Youens/Graham Youens and Eleanor Carey/Ella Nygren won their first round consolation matches (mixed doubles and girls doubles, respectively), before losing in the second round to teams from Magnolia West. La Grange again plays at Navasota this Wednesday, April 3.

La Grange Golfers Headed to Regionals

The La Grange boys golf team placed second at the district meet last week to advance to regionals. Braxton Dahse was second individually to lead La Grange.

Diggs Wins Silver At the Texas Relays

At the prestigious 96th annual Texas Relays at the University of Texas over the weekend, La Grange senior Austen Diggs placed second in the 6A/5A division of the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.50 seconds.

Leopard Trio Set New School Track Records

With some blistering times at the Swamp Relays in Rice Thursday, three La Grange track athletes set new school records in their events. Austen Diggs, the reigning state 4A 200 meter champ and school record holder in that event showed he can run longer distances equally well, winning the 400 meters Thursday in a new school record time of 48.33.

La Grange and Flatonia Grab Big Wins

Lady Leps Pound Giddings The La Grange softball team blasted Giddings Thursday 12-1 as Teagan Branch smacked a grand slam homer. Haylie Cooper had two hits and two RBIs and Sarah Kay and Haedyn Cooper both drove in two.

Fayetteville Basketball Honorees

Here are the Fayetteville basketball players honored on their all-district team: • MVP - Keagan Supak • Defensive MVP - Easton Jaeger • 1st team - Lawson Fritsch, Jake Kubala • 2nd team - Brody Dooley, Mason Fenhaus • Keagan Supak and Easton Jaeger were named to the TABC all state.

Baseball/Softball Roundup

The Schulenburg softball team lost to Ganado Tuesday 18-3. Grace Schramek, Olivia Mathis and Haylie Goode had three hits for the Lady Horns.

Sporting Clays Event April 18 Supports Grassland and Wildlife Conservation

Cat Spring-based nonprofit Wildlife Habitat Federation (WHF) will hold a sporting clays fundraiser the afternoon of April 18 at Texas Premier Sporting Arms. The event, presented by Mustang Cat, starts at noon with a catered BBQ lunch and will be followed with refreshments and an awards ceremony with custom trophies.
