Horns Stun Weimar 6-5

Bryce Stoever scored the wining run on the bottom of the 8th inning as the Schulenburg baseball team beat Weimar 6-5 Tuesday. Aaron Janecek had three hits for the Shorthorns, including a double and a triple.

Sisterly Pitcher/Catcher Combo Shines for Lady Leps Softball

The La Grange softball team has really turned things around this season after a 1-10 start. The Lady Leps have won 12 of their last 13 games, and a big key to that has been the play of sisters Marissa and Melissa Gonzales.

Oppermann Promoted With Minor League Team

In advance of the 2024 season, Richmond Flying Squirrels minor league baseball Managing General Partner Lou DiBella announced this week the promotion of three members of the organization’s current senior management team including La Grange native Anthony Oppermann. The team, which is a part of the Eastern League, is the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants major league baseball team.

Leps Baseball Stays Hot, Edges Taylor 6-4 Monday

The La Grange baseball team improved to 9-9 overall and 3-1 in district with a 6-4 win at home Monday over Taylor.

Pitcher Brayden Horton started the game for the Leps and tossed four scoreless innings.

Ty Stark pitched two scoreless innings to get the save.

The Leps continue district play at Taylor Saturday.
