Rice Consolidated Beats Schulenburg 63-27
The Schulenburg football team is still looking for its first win of the season after falling in their home opener against Rice Consolidated 63-27 Thursday.
Rice, which went 1-9 last year, improved to 3-0 this season. Schulenburg fell to 0-3 with the loss.
The Raiders outgained the Shorthorns 524 to 309 in total offense.
Schulenburg quarterback Owen Brenek ran for two touchdowns and Tim Lara and Jo’Juan Ford also ran for touchdowns for Schulenburg.
The Shorthorns hit the road to face historic rival Weimar this Friday at 7 p.m. Weimar is 2-1 and coming off a 35-6 win over Luling last week.
