For the first time since 2013, the La Grange boys basketball team won a district title. The Leps clinched the crown with a 52-40 win at home over Smithville Tuesday in the regular season finale.

The La Grange girls basketball team saw its season come to an end Monday in Waller with a 43-38 loss to Houston Yates in the first round of the playoffs. Senior Camille Gonzalez (one of six seniors on the team) led the Lady Leps in scoring with 14.

La Grange basketball player Nate Scott returned from a leg injury in football after missing the first few games of hoop season and didn’t waste any time making an impact. Scott’s natural ability makes him a crucial part of Leopard basketball and the stats even show it as he was the team’s leading scorer in both games last week, also recording a careerhigh 34 points against Manor New Tech.

The Flatonia Bulldogs clinched their fourth consecutive district title with a 114-47 win over Ganado Monday. Holden Kloesel scored 35. The Bulldogs begin the playoffs Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Giddings against Thrall.

The La Grange soccer teams went on the road and defeated Rockdale Friday. The La Grange girls won 2-0 and the boys also won 2-0.

Despite 18 points from Landri Hernandez and 17 from Camille Gonzalez, the La Grange girls basketball team lost by one point to Taylor in overtime 53-52 in Manor on Friday. This game was to decide playoff seeding as both La Grange and Taylor had tied for the District 22-4A title after the regular season.
