Flatonia Drops Pair Of District Ballgames

The Flatonia Lady Dog softball team dropped two district ballgames over Spring Break last week. Last Tuesday, Schulenburg came to town and defeated Flatonia 11-3.Then on Thursday, the Lady Dogs traveled to Ganado and lost 9-2.

Against the Lady Horns, Flatonia was held to four hits. Laurel Betak led the Lady Dogs with two hits & one RBI. Abby Drabek hit a RBI triple. Summer Sodek had the only other Flatonia hit.

Betak started in the circle and pitched 1 1/13 innings, while Sodek pitched 5 2/3 innings in relief.

In the Ganado game Sodek pitched all six innings.

Payton Guzman led Flatonia with two hits, with one being a double off of the left field wall. Emma Klozik hit a two RBI double. Dallynn Bishop, Betak, and Sodek had the other three hits for the Lady Dogs.

This week Flatonia plays at Weimar Friday, March 24 at 6 p.m.
