LG Home Softball Tourney This Week

The La Grange softball team has started the season 1-7, including Tuesday’s 9-3 loss to Yoakum in their home opener. But the Lady Leps can turn things around as they host their home tourney this week.

Bosl Coming Up Big For Bulldog Basketball

Flatonia basketball player Camden Boss stands at about 6’5” and is the tallest player on the team. Bosl takes advantage of his size down low, but he can score from anywhere on the court and has been a vital piece to the Bulldogs’ success this year.

Lady Leps Earn High Honors On All-District Hoops Team

The 22-4A all-district girls basketball team was released last week, and the district cochamp La Grange girls fared very well. Senior Keslyn Davis was named Defensive MVP of the District and freshman Kylie Trlicek was named District Newcomer of the Year.

When the Flatonia school board decided to hire Brent Mascheck as their new football coach and athletic director last month, they knew they were getting a fighter. After all, he’s been a head coach for 18 years with a reputation of having teams that don’t get outworked by anybody.

La Grange Soccer Splits With Giddings

The La Grange girls soccer team lost at home to Giddings Friday 4-0 (Lady Lep Eleanor Rohan is shown here battling for control of the ball in that game). Meanwhile, the La Grange boys went to Giddings and defeated the Buffaloes 4-3 on penalty kicks after the game was tied 1-1 after regulation. The Lady Leps are 7-7 overall and 4-3 in district. The La Grange boys are 8-6-2 overall and 4-3 in district.

LG Boys Soccer Wins Big

The La Grange boys soccer team beat Smithville Tuesday 5-0 with Salvador Agu-irre Cardenas scoring three goals, and Jeffrey Cabrera and Phillip Arceneaux scoring one each. Cabrera also had three assists. The La Grange girls lost to Smithville 3-2 on penalty kicks after the game was tied in regulation. Last Friday at Rockdale the La Grange girls won 2-0 Goals were scored by Kaylee Soto and Ellee Sodolak with assists from Natalie Orona and Hailey Hill.
