The Schulenburg volleyball team beat Louise Tuesday 25-5, 25-4, 25-14 as the Lady Horns improved to 23-12 this season and 3-0 in district. Jessalyn Gipson led the team in kills with eight and Emmrie Marx had seven.

Tuesday the Flatonia volleyball team went to Ganado and won 25-19, 25-17, 25-16 Flatonia improved to 16-12 overall and 1-2 in district. Aces: Katelin Sullivan and Kinsey Cedillo both had 2 each. Greenli VanZandt, Kalen Scott, and Emma Kosler all added 1.

Fayetteville defeated Prairie Lea 3-0 Tuesday 25-16, 25-23, 25-11. The victory improves the Lady Lions record to 12-20 overall and 1-1 in district. Kayme Schley led in kills with 11, Peyton Jurecka had six and Tara Vitek had four.

La Grange football player Cordale Knapik recently showed his clutch gene on the defensive end in order to help capture the team’s first win of the season. In a 63-47 shootout against Splendora last Friday on homecoming night, Knapik snagged two crucial interceptions, making sure the Leopards protected their home turf.

The La Grange volleyball team lost at Giddings Tuesday in three sets 25-21, 25-16, 2523. The loss drops the Lady Leps to 2-3 in district and 1421 overall. Jena Jobb led La Grange in kills with eight and Carley Ulrich had five. Jobb and Kylie Trlicek each had 10 digs. Phoebe Tucker had 10 assists and Trlicek had nine.
