Lady Horns Clinch District Title

The Schulenburg volleyball team beat Shiner in five sets Tuesday to clinch the district title. The Lady Horns, after losing the first two sets 1325 and 17-25, bounced back to win 25-15, 25-21, 15-9.

Jessalyn Gipson had 18 kills, Emmrie Marx had 15, Meredith Magliolo had 11 and Reagan Dusek had 10. Landry Zapalac had three aces and 46 assists. Kieryn Adams had 39 digs.

Place Third

The La Grange volleyball team went on the road Tuesday and beat Manor New Tech 25-9, 25-15, 25-12 in the regular season finale for both teams.

The victory improves LG’s record to 19-23 overall and 7-5 in district and clinches the third place spot in district for the Lady Leps. They will open the postseason playing Houston Worthing Monday Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at Katy’s Merrell Center.

Kylie Trlicek led the Lady Leps in kills with 11, Carley Ulrich had 10 and Jena Jobb had nine.

Jobb led in digs with 10 and Haylie Cooper had nine.

Phoebe Tucker led in assists with 23 and Trlicek had 18. Jobb had four aces, Tucker and Trlicek had three each.

In subvarsity action the La Grange JV beat New Tech 25-9, 25-11 to end their season with a 18-10 record and a 9-3 district mark.

Wins Finale

The Flatonia volleyball team beat Louise 25-9, 25-16, 25-20 Tuesday in the regular See season finale. Flatonia stats include: Aces: Katelin Sullivan with 9, Sadie Noska with 3, Elzah Herrera with 1 and Greenli VanZandt with 1; Assists: Katelin Sullivan with 13, Summer Sodek with 8, and Elzah Herrera with 5; Blocks: Kalen Scott, Katie Templeton, and Summer Sodek all had 1 each; Digs: Elzah Herrera with 12, Summer Sodek with 11, and Sadie Noska with 8; Kills: Summer Sodek with 10, Katelin Sullivan with 10, Emma Klozik with 3 and Katie Templeton with 3.

Fayetteville Falls

The Fayetteville volleyball team lost to Iola 25-4, 25-7, 25-6 in a playoff warmup match Tuesday. Kayme Schley and Cambree Denham each had two kills. Schley had six digs. Marissa Rohde had four assists and six digs. The Lady Lions are now 17-21 overall and 6-2 in district.
