Lady Leps Climb Back to Even in District Play

The La Grange volleyball team finished out the first half of district play strong, smashing Manor New Tech 25-7, 25-13, 25-16 Friday night at home. The victory improved the Lady Leps’ overall record to 15-21 and evened their district mark at 3-3.

Trlicek Wins $200 Football Jackpot

Greg Trlicek of La Grange won our $200 reader pick it contest last week as the only person to get all 10 football games correct. The Houston Texans’ upset of the Steelers Sunday ruined a lot of otherwise perfect ballots. We will try to get a picture of Trlicek getting his prize money from Alpha One this week. Meanwhile, below are the games for this week as the jackpot drops back down to $100. Good luck!

La Grange Cross Country

At the Shiner Meet on Sept. 14, La Grange cross country was led by a 11th place finish by Eleanor Carey and a 24th place finish by Faith Greenwood. On the boys side Dillan Barron was 27th and Baylee Abbey was 41st.

Schulenburg Grabs Big Win on Homecoming

The Schulenburg Shorthorns defeated a very athletic football team from Hearne 10-0 on Homecoming Friday night, bringing the Horns’ record to 2-0 in district and 3-3 overall. “(Hearne) hasn’t given up many points all year, and I know why now,” said Schulenburg Head Coach Luke Hobbs after the game.

Band Shines in San Antonio

This past weekend the Mighty Leopard Band went to the USBands San Antonio Regional Competition and placed second in their class, with a score of 75.24, and seventh overall, with a score of 73.15 in finals.
