Special Meeting Held by LG City Council

The La Grange City Council held a special meeting Monday night, March 16, to handle a few matters of pressing business. The Council authorized a natural gas supply contract with Municipal Gas Acquisition and Supply Corporation (Munigas), the city-sponsored corporation that buys and sells natural gas for municipalities around the state.

The Green Door Fund for Workforce Development and Education is making a lasting impact in local communities by creating opportunities for students and young adults to access education and job training in skilled trade professions. As a dedicated initiative under the Greater Fayette Community Foundation, the Green Door Fund supports hands-on training programs, workforce certifications, and career development.

The Fayette Prairie Chapter of the Native Prairies Association of Texas is selling 1-gallon pots of native grasses. These can be used to enhance prairie restoration efforts or cultivate beautiful pocket prairies. Available grasses are big and little bluestem, indiangrass, switchgrass, eastern gamagrass, sideoats grama, and inland seaoats. These grasses are tough and beautiful and can survive extreme heat and drought. Order now for pickup in mid-April. For more information, contact fayette@texasprairie. org.
