The La Grange City Council held a special meeting Monday night, March 16, to handle a few matters of pressing business. The Council authorized a natural gas supply contract with Municipal Gas Acquisition and Supply Corporation (Munigas), the city-sponsored corporation that buys and sells natural gas for municipalities around the state.

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association met Monday, March 9 at the New Life Methodist Church in La Grange. Guest speaker was Kenny Couch, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in Fayette County.

The Fayette Prairie Chapter of the Native Prairies Association of Texas is selling 1-gallon pots of native grasses. These can be used to enhance prairie restoration efforts or cultivate beautiful pocket prairies. Available grasses are big and little bluestem, indiangrass, switchgrass, eastern gamagrass, sideoats grama, and inland seaoats.
