Donate Life Month In celebration of National Donate Life Month, St. Mark’s Medical Center is holding a donor registration event on Friday, April 29 from 10 a.m.

Flatonia didn’t have to look far to find its new superintendent. Longtime Flatonia administrator and current interim superintendent Chris Sodek was named the sole finalist for the job at a special meeting held Thursday by the school’s board of trustees.

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity (FCHFH) gave an update to the La Grange City Council Monday night, April 25. Kenny Couch, the organization’s executive director, said FCHFH is looking to buy lots for single family homes.

A train struck a commercial vehicle on the tracks near the intersection of Fayette and Mechanic St. in Fayetteville Saturday morning, April 23. The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash, but the report was not available in time for this publication. Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department responded. Fayetteville Fire Chief Randy Noviskie said the truck driver and his son, who was a passenger, were transported to St. Mark’s Hospital by Fayette County EMS with non-life threatening injuries. After one of their most successful regional meets in recent memory, La Grange High School has qualified a busload of kids to the state UIL academic meet next week at UT. La Grange competed at the Region III-4A meet at Stephen F.

Ken and Becky Robinson are used to a lot of commotion around their house. They’ve lived in the same spot in Warrenton since 1996, and have watched the semi-annual antiques festival grow up around them.

La Grange Police Sergeant Travis Anderson will retire in July. Anderson started with the City in 2005.
