Train Strikes Truck Carrying Two

A train struck a commercial vehicle on the tracks near the intersection of Fayette and Mechanic St. in Fayetteville Saturday morning, April 23. The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash, but the report was not available in time for this publication. Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department responded. Fayetteville Fire Chief Randy Noviskie said the truck driver and his son, who was a passenger, were transported to St. Mark’s Hospital by Fayette County EMS for evaluation. They were not injured.
