CattleWomen to Meet at Big Time Pizza And Ice Cream

The Navidad Valley CattleWomen (NVCW) is a nonprofit organization with the primary focus of beef promotion and education in South Central Texas. The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet.

Tamara Otto Named Catholic Life All American Scholar

Tamara Otto of Schulenburg, received the Catholic Life Insurance All American Scholar Award. Otto, who is the daughter of Stacy and Keith Otto, is a senior at Schulenburg High School. She will attend Texas A&M University this fall. A total of 35 seniors received the $1,000 All American scholarship from Catholic Life.

Cattlemen’s Association Names Scholarship Winners

Colorado Valley Independent Cattlemen’s Association is pleased to announce this year’s scholarship winners. In partnership with the Faith P. and Charles L. Bybee Foundation and along with the Carl L. Wendler Family, the organization will once again award $2,000 to each student in three counties; Colorado, Fayette and Lee. The Chapter’s Scholarship Chairman and Director, Anna Karisch, is pleased to announce that the four students receiving scholarships this year are:
Amber Kate McCarty of La Grange High School, Fayette County. She will be attending Texas A&M University Corpus Christi/ Criminal Law.

Shrimp Boil

The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus will hold their annual Shrimp Boil on Friday, May 19 at the St. John Catholic Church pavilion in Fayetteville starting at 6:30 p.m. with complimentary keg beer until 7:30 p.m. The meal starts at 7:30. Appraisal Values to Make Another Jump

Local property owners may be in for an unpleasant surprise when they open the mail this week. Fayette County Appraisal District (Fayette CAD) sent out notices of preliminary property values on Monday, May 15.
