Warda Youth Participate in Lee County Livestock Show

The Warda Bunch Kids competed at the Lee County Livestock Show. The following kids showed and placed: Dylan Beck-9th place rabbits. Weston Beck-4th place rabbits. Bandon Burgdorf-1st place heavy weight hog and 4th place lamb. Regan Hinze-9th place commercial heifer. Brook Lehmann-2nd place goat and 9th place hog. Karly Hentschel-10th place broilers. Jay Woelfel-3rd place rabbits and 11th place broilers. Layna Woelfel-6th place rabbits and 4th place steer. Rayli Woelfel-8th place rabbits and 19th place broilers.

Blinn College Winter Enrollment Increased

The Blinn College District saw a 16% enrollment increase and set a new registration record for the term during the recent winter minimester, the Board of Trustees learned during its regular meeting Tuesday, Feb. 21.

As of March 1, registration is now open for the Fayette County Fair Bucket Calf Project. The FCF Bucket Calf Project is a program that was started in the summer of 2021. This project was started to allow for an earlier introduction into the world of agriculture and beef cattle production.

LHS Band Keeps Piling Up the Awards

On Saturday, Feb. 25, members of the La Grange High School Band competed across the State at three different events, and all three groups achieved outstanding performances, and brought home trophies to show for it.
The LHS Polka Band competed at the UIL State German Competition at Texas State University in San Marcos. They performed five selections, and took home the 2nd Place trophy.

The Warda Bunch Show Fund will have a barbecue pork fundraiser on Saturday, April 1. Barbecue pork butts will be available in 2½-4 lb. pieces for $10.50/lb. Orders will be taken for the number of pieces you would like (not by the pound). Pick up at the Holy Cross picnic grounds in Warda from 4-6 p.m. Pre-orders only by calling the Holy Cross church office at (979) 242-3333 by Thursday, March 23.
