SLM to Vote to Accept Jen Kindsvatter as New Pastor

All four churches will have a congregational vote to accept the new Pastoral Candidate, Pastor Jen Kindsvatter on Sunday, Feb. 25. There was a meet in greet last Sunday in Rutersville for all to meet her and her family. Although she may be a new face for some, she has served as a supply pastor in our congregations over that last several months.

The La Grange School board will meet next Monday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. in the La Grange ISD Board Meeting Room located at 560 North Monroe. Individuals who wish to speak must sign up and return a completed Public Comments Form by 4 p.m. on the day of the Board meeting. Soil & Water Conservation Contest Winners Announced

Each year, the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation Districts sponsor the Texas Conservation Awards Program to recognize and honor those who dedicate themselves and their talents to the conservation and wise use of renewable natural resources.

Czech Heritage Society Officers Installed

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society met on Sunday, Feb. 4, in the Hanslik Hall of the TCHCC in La Grange to celebrate their annual soup (polévka) social. An abundance of soups including chicken noodle, tortilla, potato, sauerkraut with sausage, vegetable beef soup and chili were enjoyed by those who joined.

State, U.S. Races Included in Final Political Forum

The Fayette County Republican Party will hold its final political forum of the primary election season this Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Fayette County Ag Building, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. in La Grange. The forum will take place from 1-4 p.m. Local party officials invited all of the candidates in the U.S. Congress race for District 10 and the State House race for District 85.

Update on Proposed LG Gin Distillery

The entrepreneurs who want to build a gin distillery in La Grange came to the City Council almost six months ago seeking approval to open their business in the downtown historic district. The City has yet to act on their request.
