The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn educational program is a series of 9 informational meetings designed to provide gardening or general landscaping information for homeowners. Fayette County Master Gardeners plan and present a variety of programs from experts in the area and across the state. This series is designed with the homeowner in mind; bring your lunch and learn about a variety of topics that help you have a more productive garden, prettier flower beds, or how to better understand your landscape ecosystems.

The Rural Nonprofit Networking Group (RNNG), a program of the Fayette Community Foundation, is excited to invite all nonprofit staff and volunteers to join their first quarterly professional development workshop series which will be held on Thursday, May 16. RNNG creates opportunities for the organizations that do so much good in our rural communities to share their missions and visions, discuss community needs and partnership opportunities, bring in experts to facilitate growth and professionalism, and simply connect to maximize the efficiency and impact that participants can bring to Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, and surrounding counties.

La Grange Police Chief, David Gilbreath reports that on Wednesday, May 1, at 11:50 p.m. La Grange Police Officers Steven Haynie, and Bret Meinardus responded to a call of a female motorist that she was being followed by another vehicle.

An 18-wheeler lost control in the rain and jacknifed on SH 159 near Rutersville last Thursday, May 2. According to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, 25-year-old Jorge Lewis Perez Fuentes of Cypress was driving a white 2007 Freightliner truck.

The Muldoon Fire Department just received their new Fouts Brothers FB94 Spartan Engine, with a 1,000 gallon water tank and 1,500 gpm pump. The engine was purchased from Metro Fire Apparatus Specialists out of Houston. Muldoon FD would like to extend their gratitude to Todd Johnson from Metro for his extensive assistance with this purchase.

A person died in their sleep at the Oak Motel in La Grange. The person was discovered Monday morning, May 6.

The first weekend in May marked the opening of the 25th Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) production, Clue On Stage. The play is based on the 1985 movie and popular board game which is celebrating its 75th year of mystery solving fun.
