La Grange One-Act Play To Hold Pair Of Public Performances This Weekend
La Grange High School’s One-Act Play proudly wrapped up their 2024 season after competing at the UIL OAP Regional contest in Carthage last month. Performing “And Jack Fell Down” by Richard Weaver, LHS One-Act Play earned 4th at Regionals and took home multiple individual awards: Riley Lowe-Best Actor, Molly Hudson-All Star Cast, Austin Williams-Honorable Mention and Kameron Behrens-All Star Crew.
“And Jack Fell Down” shares the story about two marionette puppets, Jack and Jill, and their ostentatious carnival puppet master, Professor Brazzaro. Jack resents being controlled by the master’s hand and tries to rebel against his strings. Jill, on the other hand, is content with the confinements of life on the stage and protests that puppets can’t live without the professor’s guiding hand. Together, Jack and Jill navigate the complexities of puppet life, all the while performing a variety of plays within a play, including the romantic Romeo and Juliet and the combative Punch and Judy. Join our La Grange High School One-Act Players this weekend as they perform their Regional qualifying production of “And Jack Fell Down” at the LG Performing Arts Center at 656 E. Travis Street; Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m. & Sunday, May 12 at 5:30 p.m. Free-will donations will graciously be accepted in lieu of ticket fees. Step right up, ladies! Step right up, gentlemen! The show is about to begin!
