Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of April 7-13.

Possession of Marijuana On April 7, Officer Byron Powe initiated a stop in the 600 block of W. I-10 for improperly displayed temporary tag. Driver was arrested.

OnApril 10, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I,10 for speeding going 101 in a 75. Driver was arrested for possession.

OnApril 11, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of I-10 for unsecured temporary tag. Driver was arrested.

Animal Complaint

On April 8, Code Enforcement and animal control officer Gina Harden received a call about a mother cat and three kittens needing to go to the animal shelter. Caller explained the mother cat was a stray that had kittens in her garage. Officer planned to get kittens to the shelter.

On April 10, Harden responded to the 1300 block of South Street regarding four dogs that continue to harass the livestock in the 1300 block of Pierce Street. Officer located the dogs and stressed to the owner the importance of keeping his dogs on his property.

On April 10, Harden responded to the 1100 block of Wolters Avenue for a possible litter of kittens under the house. Caller stated that during the storm she and her husband heard kittens. Officer could not locate any kittens.

Disturbance

On April 10, Officer Hailee Vincent was dispatched to the 25 block of N. Kessler in reference to a female subject telling the clerk she was assaulted. Officer was unable to locate the female subject upon arrival.

On April 13, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 1400 block of Oakland for a disturbance.

Traffic Hazard

On April 7, Whited responded to the 9000 block of Hwy. 90 for an 18,wheeler unable to stay in its lane.

Theft

On April 11, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler regarding a theft of diet soda. Officer met with the store manager.

Suspicious Vehicle/Person On April 11, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 200 block of West for a suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact and driver stated they are an investigator for a company investigating a workman’s comp case.

Traffic Stop

On April 8, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver advised they did not have insurance. Driver was issued two warnings.

On April 9, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Officer issued a citation.

OnApril 10, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I,10 for speeding going 92 in a 75. Driver received a warning.

On April 11, Whited stopped a driver in the 400 block of Summit for pulling a trailer with lights not working when braking or turning. Driver was cited for expired drivers’ license.

On April 11, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding. Driver received a warning.

OnApril 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I,10 for speeding going 94 in a 75. Driver received citations for speeding and no driver’s license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

On April 11, Krenek stopped a driver at James and Summit for disregarding a stop sign. Driver received a warning.

OnApril 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration (3,24) driver received a warning for expired registration.

On April 12, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver received a warning.
