Locals Featured in Ad Campaign Filmed Here
A new advertising campaign for the Boot Barn company was recently filmed in La Grange, and in addition to including several area locations, it also featured a bunch of local talent. The campaign features a one minute commercial that will run through various social media platforms as well as billboards, magazines and other advertising outlets.

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger will host their 74th Annual Bazaar on Sunday Aug. 25 starting at 10:30 a.m. There will be a drive-thru and dine-in meal at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall consisting of fried chicken, sausage and trimmings for $15 per plate. There will also be a silent auction and a live auction. There will be a Variety Booth and other fun game activities. Live music will be provided by The Bandits. There will be a prize drawing for a $5,000 gift card first prize, and 43 additional prizes. Tickets for the drawing are available from the St. John’s/ St. Mary’s Parish Office, St. Mary parishioners, Fayetteville Bank or Round Top State Bank. Resources For Successful Living Begins Sept. 17
A new 2024-2025 Lunch and Learn series called “Resources for Successful Living” will start Sept. 17. This monthly event will be held on the third Tuesday of every month from 12:05 - 12:50 p.m., except Dec. and Jan.. The program will be held at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, Room 104 in La Grange. The Fayette County Committee on Aging along with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office of Fayette County will be hosting the monthly events which will provide resources and education for successful everyday living.
New La Grange City Manager Promises 'Full Aggression' After Tourism/Retail
The new La Grange City Manager, Jack Thompson, has some big plans for economic development in La Grange. During a budget workshop with the City Council on Monday, Thompson said the La Grange Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is “going full aggression after retail and tourism.” Thompson said attracting new businesses to town will be the major focus for the EDC moving forward.
