Pancake Supper is This Thursday

There will be some changes this year to the annual La Grange Rotary Pancake Supper which will be held this Thursday, Feb. 2, from 5-7 p.m. The first change is the location. It will be held at the new La Grange Elementary cafeteria. Another change is a return to dine-in, with all you can eat returning to the dinein crowd as well. The dine-in entrance will be at the main entrance of the elementary school on S. Jackson St. Parking is available on S. Jackson St. and Milam St.

Canik Makes Dean’s List

Dustin Canik from Fayetteville made the Sam Houston State University Deans List for the Fall 2022 semester. He is a Junior double majoring in Education and Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism. To make the Dean’s list, you have to have a 3.5 or greater grade point average.

Senior Connections Hears from Former Judge Ed Janecka

Members had such a great week at Senior Connections from great speakers, to the awesome company of friends and neighbors, a warm shared meal with each other, and some group outings. Former Fayette County Judge Ed Janecka was the Lunch and Learn Series guest speaker that had a riveted audience.

City Manager Negotiations Continue in LG

The La Grange City Council voted Monday night to continue negotiations with Kevin Carruth of Rockport to fill the vacant City Manager position. Carruth was the Council’s second pick for the job.

Soup & Bake Sale

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will host a chicken noodle soup lunch and bake sale Sunday, Jan. 29 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
