There will be some changes this year to the annual La Grange Rotary Pancake Supper which will be held this Thursday, Feb. 2, from 5-7 p.m. The first change is the location. It will be held at the new La Grange Elementary cafeteria. Another change is a return to dine-in, with all you can eat returning to the dinein crowd as well. The dine-in entrance will be at the main entrance of the elementary school on S. Jackson St. Parking is available on S. Jackson St. and Milam St.

Dustin Canik from Fayetteville made the Sam Houston State University Deans List for the Fall 2022 semester. He is a Junior double majoring in Education and Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism. To make the Dean’s list, you have to have a 3.5 or greater grade point average.

Blinn College Schulenburg is offerring a basic landscaping course. The course will cover plant care ‘from the ground up’ and managing pests and diseases.

La Grange Fire Chief Frank Menefee reported that State Fire Marshals investigated the fire at the old La Grange Plastics Building on Colorado St., but they were unable to determine a cause. The fire early Sunday morning, Jan.

State Senator Lois Kolkhorst began her fifth legislative session representing Fayette County and the rest of District 18 when she took the oath of office at the Capitol on Jan. 10.

The La Grange City Council voted Monday night to continue negotiations with Kevin Carruth of Rockport to fill the vacant City Manager position. Carruth was the Council’s second pick for the job.

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will host a chicken noodle soup lunch and bake sale Sunday, Jan. 29 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
