RT-Carmine ISD Returns to School Aug. 13
School starts again this Wednesday, Aug. 13. Sending prayers for another great school year for all the teachers, students, staff, and families.
Texas House Bill 1481 was passed which restricts the use of all personal communication devices during instructional hours. This includes cellphones, earbuds, smart glasses, smart watches, tablets, text messaging devices, etc. If students need to contact a family member, they can go to the office. Parents, all communication with your students should go through the school office, so please make sure contact information is up to date. This applies during the school day from 7:52 a.m.3:40 p.m.
The first FFA meeting of the year will be Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. That following Friday, Aug. 22 is an early dismissal to recoup from a busy first two weeks.
Fall and senior pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Festival Hill
Tickets are now available for a Chamber Music Concert Saturday, Aug. 23 at 3 p.m. Four virtuoso musicians will perform a program of chamber music by three great composers in their youth, each exploring the key of C in their own unique voices. The Breakfast Club at the RTAHS will show a screening of the 1959 film “On the Beach” starring Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner Saturday, Aug. 16 beginning at 10 a.m. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and coffee starting at 9 a.m. This is a free event, but please RSVP to ensure there is enough breakfast for everyone by texting your initials and the number attending to (979) 702-0525. Please note, this film is generally not recommended for younger audiences or families due to its mature themes and intense scenes.
Round Top Family Library
There are several wonderful after school programs available at the library. Junior Master Gardener Kids Garden Class is for 4-5 grade students. This 4-week workshop will be held Wednesdays 4-5:15 p.m. in October and November.
Adults and children ages 6 and up can learn Sign Language Mondays from 12:301:30 p.m. This class begins in September.
ASTEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) class will be Tuesdays 4-5:15 p.m. October-November.

St. Martin’s Catholic Church St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly Mass the first Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. The next Mass will be Sept. 2. More information can be found at stjohnfayetteville. com/st-martin.

Sewing Circle will meet Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 9:30 a.m. Ruth Circle will meet Thursday, Aug. 14 at 9:30 a.m. The church is accepting empty medicine bottles as a part of the “Matthew 25 Ministries Project”, which reuses the bottles to improve medical care in developing countries. Donations may be dropped off in the designated bins in the church kitchen. Please ensure these are clean, recapped, label- free, and residue-free prescription or over-the-counter pill bottles.
St. Paul Lutheran Church St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby services are at 8 a.m. Fellowship, Coffee, and Sunday School follow at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday at 2 p.m. Quilting is held the third Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
St. Cecilia’s Episcopal Church Worship services are held Sundays at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at the Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.
St. John’s Lutheran Church St. John’s is part of the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. They meet for Sunday Worship at 8:30 a.m.
RT Christian Fellowship Round Top Church meets at 8:45 a.m. for Bible Study, followed by a 10 a.m. service.
