Subjects Arrested After I-10 Pursuit

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Saturday around 2:31 a.m. Deputy Cody Williams attempted to stop a black Mercedes on I-10 near the 672 MM westbound for a traffic violation, as the vehicle attempted to evade from the Deputy with lights and sirens activated.

A pursuit entailed on I-10 west bound as a DPS Trooper set up spikes on I-10 at the 628 milemarker and successfully spiked the tires of the vehicle bringing the pursuit to a stop.

The female driver identified as Jasmine Nicole Ybarra, 25-year-old of San Antonio was taken into custody for evading arrest with a vehicle, delivery of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance. A male subject in the vehicle was identified as James Cortney Dean, 29-yearold, also from San Antonio.

Assisting with the pursuit was Schulenburg P.D. Officer Byron Powe, Gonzales County Deputies, DPS Troopers, and Fayette County Deputy Jose Mosqueda. Both subjects were transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where the female driver was booked into Jail and the male passenger was released pending charges.
