Celebrate Turtle Wing Day April 5

Kick off Autism Acceptance Month with Turtle Wing Day on April 5. Wear your Turtle Wing Gear (or green) to school and work to show your support and inclusion of those friends and family diagnosed with Autism.

Animal Shelter Update

As of March 17, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 276: 171 dogs and 105 cats in need. As of March 17, the shelter has 50 animals in care: 33 dogs/17 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Deadline Approaching For Voter Registration

Fayette County Elections Administrator Terri Hefner reminds the public about an upcoming voter registration deadline. If you want to vote in the upcoming May 6 local election in your community, you must register to vote by the deadline of April 6.

Road Construction Begins in Warda

W Road construction began this past week on the bridge on CR 214/Warda Blacktop Road. This road will be closed for several weeks so you will need to plan an alternative route.

Program Wants to Connect Students With Czech Businesses

Bret Baldwin, an education advocate from Victoria, wants to connect local high school students with businesses in the Czech Republic. The students would learn the Czech language while working on virtual projects with fellow high schoolers in the Czech Republic.
