Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 24-28.

Assault

On Aug. 26, Officer MD Krenek was advised of an incident that occurred between two Jr. high school students. Officer spoke with all parties involved.

Animal Complaint

On Aug. 25, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden was dispatched to the 800 block of Upton to deliver livetraps for feral cats.

On Aug. 26, Harden was dispatched to the 200 block of Upton for loose dogs. Harden was able to get them secured in the house and contacted the owner via Facebook messenger.

On Aug. 26, Officer Reyden Svatek was dispatched to the 200 block of Upton to assist with loose dogs.

On Aug. 27, Krenek was dispatched to the police station to meet with complainant concerning ownership of a dog.

Missing Person

On Aug. 28, Svatek received a call concerning a welfare check of a male subject appearing confused in the 25 block of N. Kessler. Officer was advised he was a missing person out of Seguin. Family was located and officer stayed with subject until family arrived. 

Public Intoxication

On Aug. 24, Officer James Whited observed a vehicle parked off the road in the 200 block of E. Summit. Officer contacted the individual and they were charged with public intoxication.

Suspicious Person

On Aug. 27, Whited was dispatched to the 100 block of Cardinal for a suspicious person looking for a stolen vehicle. 

Traffic Stop

On Aug. 24, Whited stopped a driver in the 300 block of College for traveling 67 in a posted 55. A warning was issued.

On Aug. 25, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 300 block of Kessler for failure to signal at a required distance. Driver was issued a warning.

On Aug. 25, Krenek stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone.

On Aug. 25, Svatek stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 40 in a 25. Driver was issued a citation for speeding in a school zone.

On Aug. 26, Krenek stopped a driver in the 600 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.

On Aug. 26, Castilleja stopped a driver for a defective head lamp in the 300 block of Kessler. Driver did not have a Texas driver’s license a citation for driving while license invalid or unlicensed was issued.

On Aug. 28, Krenek was advised of a driver in the 300 block of Bucek on a cell phone in an active school zone. Driver was issued a citation for use of a wireless device in a school zone and failure to provide proof of insurance.
