Camp Lone Star to Host Thanksgiving Family Fun Night

Camp Lone Star in La Grange is hosting their Thanksgiving Family Fun Night on Tuesday Nov. 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Family Fun Nights include dinner, exciting camp activities, a Family Feud game, and a devotional. Hermann Sons Rutersville will hold their November meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5 beginning at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. The meal will be soup and sandwiches; soups will be provided. Please bring your favorite sandwiches and side to share.

Praise in the Park, presented by community friends and neighbors, will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Wolters Park Pavilion in Schulenburg. Free admission with a complimentary hot dog meal. All are welcome to fellowship and worship Jesus together in the park.

Construction Updates On Bridge & Hwy 159

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) says the old Business 71 truss bridge in La Grange should reopen to traffic before the end of the year. The old bridge had been closed to traffic since March of 2023. Workers removed the old deck, refurbished and painted the metal structure, and built a new deck.

City Answers VFW Facility Pleas

La Grange VFW Post Commander Richard Gray spoke again at the La Grange City Council meeting on Monday. He’s been a frequent speaker during the public comment period at City Council meetings lately, pleading for much-needed improvements at the City-owned VFW Hall.
