MLK Day Proclaimed in La Grange
La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery signed a proclamation on Monday designating Jan. 19 as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the City of La Grange. The proclamation honors Dr. King for advancing “the principles of nonviolence, civic engagement, and peaceful advocacy as powerful tools to confront injustice and bring about meaningful and lasting change.” On hand for the signing were members of the La Grange Juneteenth Committee. The fifth annual Unity and Community Walk will be held on Monday, Jan. 19 beginning at 10 a.m. It starts on the grounds of the Fayette Public Library in La Grange and goes to the Fayette County Courthouse
