Fayette County Tax Assessor-Collector Rosalinda Adamcik was laid to rest Wednesday, Sept. 2, in Hostyn. Her sudden illness and death on Saturday, Aug. 29, shocked many in the community. She was 65 years old.

Members of the Carden and Lehmann families erected a patriotic flag display Wednesday morning at the entrance to the Fayette County Fairgrounds. “It’s important to show our respect and support to America, police officers and fire fighters who put their lives on the line everyday,” said Erich Lehmann. Every year Erich and a team of volunteers erect these flags at the entrance of the fairgrounds as a welcoming patriotic display when people arrive to the fair. Even though this year’s fair is different, they wanted to make sure they kept the fire of this tradition burning brightly for all who pass by. “It’s simple, we love America!” said five-year-old twins, Johann and Caleb Lehmann. Luke Carden, who served six years in the 10th Mountain Division including a tour in Afghanistan said, “Freedom doesn’t come free!” Jay Carden, who served four years active duty in the Army with four deployments in Iraq said, “It means a lot to fly the Flag proudly, and it’s important.” Towards the end, as they looked over their work, Daniel Lehmann summed it up best, “God Bless America, the greatest country on earth!”

La Grange ISD Superintendent Bill Wagner issued the following letter this morning to parents of students at La Grange High:

La Grange ISD has been notified that an 11th grade student in La Grange High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student has not been in school since symptom onset. Due to the positive case La Grange ISD is following the protocols outlined in the Safe Return School document which is available on the La Grange ISD website.
