Celebrating Connectivity – Lorelei Carillo delivered meals curbside on Saturday to customers outside Celebrations in La Grange. Proprietors and chefs Susan Kuehler and Mike McCathern donated a generous portion of Saturday’s proceeds to La Grange Computers 4 All. This local project rehabilitates old computers and gives them to residents who need to get online – now more than ever. More than 60 computers have been given away thus far. COVID Update

The number of active + probable COVID cases in Fayette County has risen to 47, up from 45 a week ago, according to figures from county officials. The county is also reporting that seven people in Fayette County have died from COVID since the onset of the pandemic.

County Fair Queen’s Contest is this Thursday

This coming weekend was supposed to be the 93rd annual Fayette County Fair. And while several aspects of the event have been cancelled because of the pandemic, the livestock shows and barbeque cook-off will continue.

County Leader Adamcik Dies

As of press time, funeral arrangements were still pending for Fayette County Tax Assessor-Collector Rosalinda Adamcik, who died this week. A longtime county employee in the tax office, Adamcik was sworn in April 1, 2015 as Tax Assessor-Collector after being recommended for the job by retiring office holder Carol Johnson.

LGISD Has Its 1st COVID Case Of the New Year

La Grange Independent School District had its first confirmed case of coronavirus since the start of this new school year Friday when the district received word that a sixth grade student had tested positive for the virus.
