St. Mark’s Welcomes New Surgeon

St. Mark’s Medical Center has welcomed Peter Ramzy, MD, to its St. Mark medical staff. An accomplished general surgeon, Dr. Ramzy will join General and Laparoendoscopic Surgeons of Central Texas, located at Two St. Mark’s Place, Suite 130, La Grange, on September 1.

A native of London, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Ramzy completed his undergraduate work at The University of Texas at Austin, medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and residencies in the States of Louisiana and New York. A boardcertified surgeon, he practiced general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, trauma, and critical care in Louisiana and several locations in Texas. Most recently, Dr. Ramzy practiced general surgery in Dallas. He has a particular interest in laparoscopic techniques, burns, trauma, and wound care.

Since 1999, Dr. Ramzy has written multiple articles and papers on various aspects of childhood, adolescent, and adult burns. He has also published articles on the topic of diverticulitis. He is a member of The Society of Critical Care Medicine, and has presented at The American Burn Association and The Surgical Infection Society.
