Fayette County residents wanting to get a coronavirus vaccine will have to travel to Brenham to get one, at least for now. Fayette County Emergency Management Chief Craig Moreau said he know of no more first doses of the vaccine coming to Fayette County.

Feed the Need Missions exists to feed people physically and spiritually. The La Grange site will be the first in Fayette County and will be operational on all Mondays throughout the year, starting January 25.

These are interesting days in Fayetteville. While the rest of the country seems divided over national politics, one of Fayette County’s most charming little towns is dealing with much more local divisive issues.

What day is it? How would I know? I’ve been doing the same thing for the past 10 months, isolating, cocooning, watching the news incessantly, walking the dogs, attempting to be inventive about different routes so they have new bushes to leave their mark. What differentiates Monday from Thursday? Wednesday from Saturday? Why am I so perplexed about days of the week? I read this quandary of mentally being lost in time is a result of stress, due to our isolation, the pandemic, the loss of jobs, no money, and being alone, if you don’t have a partner to share those hair-pulling days with.

On Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, Edward Whately “Sonny” Applebe, loving husband, father, friend, and true Texas gentleman, passed away at age 91.

Beautiful things come together with one stitch at a time and that is exactly what happened this year between the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild and La Grange Main Street. The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild decided in mid-2020 to cancel the 2021 Best Little Quilt Show due to the coronavirus.

This year my winter garden is bigger than it has ever been. In the past, I’ve grown a few kale and cabbage plants in the winter. But I never before kept the garden full through the cold month. This year, I even added some new vegetable beds for winter crops.
