With the recent showing of the rare snow that appeared last week I thought that would discuss the different types of winter precipitation so that in another four years when it actually snows again you can recall this article and know what is falling from the sky.

A missing stop sign contributed to an accident Friday morning in La Grange at the intersection of SH 159 and the SH 71 bypass. La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said details about the accident were yet ready in time for this publication.

A family lost nearly all of their belongings in a house fire near Plum Thursday afternoon, Jan. 14.

A fire call Friday afternoon for hay bales on fire on Slo John Road near FM 609 in the Flatonia area quickly escalated and multiple structures burned. High winds that day caused the fire to spread, and some neighbors were evacuated until the fire was contained after 7 p.m. Flatonia Fire & Rescue responded with four trucks and neighboring fire departments from Muldoon, La Grange and Schulenburg also responded along with the Texas Forest Service.
