To the Editor: Neale Rabensburg’s attempt to rewrite history (Letter to editor, May 28, 2021) is not only ludicrous on its face. It also is contemptuous toward an amazingly patient and kind mayor of La Grange.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 90 calls for service during the week of May 29 through June 4. On May 30, Officers Meagher and Castilleja arrested 46-year-old Gregory Lee Ulloa for assault family vilence and resisting arrest and transported him to the Fayette County Jail.

Angelo State University in San Angelo has announced the students achieving the Dean’s List designation for the 2021 Spring Semester and it includes James Brown of Schulenburg. To be eligible for the ASU Dean’s List, full-time undergraduate students must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports the following incidents his department responded to from May 30 through June 6. Assault June 3- Patrolman David Mohr received a call of an assault in progress in the 1000 block of E.

Round Top Lions Club recently donated $2,000 to the Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation. Monies donated will support the purchase of Chromebooks for students. The Good Old Summertime Classic Bike Ride kicked off last Sunday, the first sunny day since who knows when. A total of 250+ riders chose from three different routes all around the area. Over 30 locals joined in, representing the largest number of local riders to date.

In February of 2018, construction of a new meeting/training room for the Ellinger Fire Department got underway. In March of 2018, Larry Marusik, an Ellinger Firefighter, was severely burned and died due to complications of injuries while fighting a grassfire nearby. The Ellinger VFD was committed to honor its fallen comrade. Finally after many delays a dedication ceremony was announced.

Klare Segura, a Fayette County and Schulenburg 4-H member, recently competed in the District 11 4-H Horse Show on June 2 in Edna. Klare and Dollar won trail and horsemanship, 2nd in showmanship, 3rd in pleasure and Junior Reserve Overall Stockhorse. They will compete at the state level in July.

Parents with children fourteen years of age and older who are still in school receiving special education services, along with the staff who work with them, would benefit from this Pathways to Adulthood training. They will learn new ideas and information about transition and the necessary planning to ensure that once their child exits the school system there is a success strategy set.
