Military Precision

To the Editor: Well, I got my Moderna vaccine shot Tuesday in Brenham. We crested the rise just west of the fairgrounds and our eyes were met with a scene resembling the expanse of the buffalo herds in 1840 except this time it was cars, pickups and SUVs.

To the Editor: I like to report that today my wife and I had our first vaccine at the vaccine hub in Brenham. We had an appointment time of 11 a.m., but arrived 10:40 a.m.

Local Experiences Getting COVID Vaccine

In light of all the negative commentary on the COVID vaccine, I am happy to report that I received my first vaccine on Tuesday with no problems. From the moment I registered online, to receiving a confirmation phone call, to arriving at the vaccination hub - the process was run like a well-oiled machine.

Time to Reassert Our Values

To the Editor: For years we have believed our Christian and Constitutional values remain foundational, assuming our fellow citizens share the same. In actuality, these are not universally foundational rather taken for granted or ignored as no longer appropriate in todays progressive culture.

Beating a Dead Horse?

To the Editor: Reading the letter by Hanna Hoffman, Jan. 26, brings to mind the fictional character Don Quixote, Man of La Mancha.

Too Much Correctness

To the Editor: With all the rush to remove statues and street names in cities and states with a liberal culture maybe they need to look at all their politically insensitive names that maybe should be changed to reflect these cities and states political leanings. A few examples of such renamings might include names like Massachusetts or Arapahoe County, Colorado.

Planned Parenthood

To the Editor: Since 1973 to the year 2018 more than 61.8 million abortions have been committed in the United States. The question is where are all these abortions committed? Since the first state legalized abortion in 1967, 8,965,000 abortions have been committed by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).

Praise of Column

To the Editor: Hanna Hoffman, in her piece on Jan. 26, “One Nation, Indivisible, or is it?” absolutely hit a home run.

Biden’s Bad Start

To the Editor: “America is a Constitutional Republic, its fundamentals being the rule of law and individual rights,” says Allen West, Chairman of the Texas Republican Party. He goes on to remind us, “We have three co-equal branches of government: the legislative, executive, and judicial.” It occurred to me, but I can’t say it as well as Col.

Non-Denominational Definition

To the Editor: According to The Journal of American History, non-denominational Christianity consists of churches which typically distance themselves from the confessionalism or creedalism of other Christian communities by not formally aligning with a specific Christian denomination. Nondenominational Christianity first arose in the 18th century through the “Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement” with followers organizing themselves simply as “Christians” and/or “Disciples of Christ.” Often congregating in loose associations such as the Churches of Christ, or in other cases, founded by individual pastors, they have little affiliation with historic denominations, but many typically adhere to evangelical Christianity.
