that little voice

My home in San Miguel is a condo in a small complex of six units. Five of them are sold but only three have been occupied, or at least partially occupied for the past eight months, which means I have been here alone during the pandemic.

Keep Founders Park

To the Editor: My humble comment on the closing in of Founders Park: It is indeed unfortunate that a decision has been made to close in and create offices in what is presently Founders Park on the Square. The decision for additional rest rooms in that space is a very good idea; however, losing the unique, open space is something that should have been given more thought and discussion.

Bluster and Innuendo

To the Editor: Oh Mr. Mikus’ where to begin to respond to your sanctimonious letter about COVID concerns.

Kudos to Elections Office

To the Editor: I’d like to express my sincerest appreciation and awe of our elections’ administrator and her team. While many other areas of our country and state struggle with election integrity issues, Fayette County is truly very lucky to have such an amazing person as Terri Hefner to do this role.

Founders Park Question

To the Editor: I’ve recently seen some news about building public restrooms and reinventing the little Founders Park as a new visitors center. One question comes to mind and that’s what is the purpose of the Historic Casino Hall? The current visitors center is very nice and has all the amenities for attracting visitors.

Choose Freedom

To the Editor: There are many definitions of freedom related to personal, economic, social, governmental, international, and foremost spiritual. There is one common denominator in all of these.

Republicans Should Apologize

To the Editor: I was saddened and somewhat shocked by reading the October 9 front page story in The Fayette Country Record regarding the recent “political parade” event. A few purported Republicans decided to display their political leanings with a vehicle parade.

No ‘Us’ Versus ‘Them’

To the Editor: The Opinion letter stating that there are no American flags on one of the Presidential candidates stages is not true. Both candidates have American flags--please google images rather than assume facebook posts are sometimes true.

No Masks in Warrenton

To the Editor: I am a big supporter of the antique shows and I have to say I’m thrilled that all of the vendors that I know personally are doing great this year. I’m thrilled that we are having the show, I certainly recognize how important it is to our dealers and our economy.

Voting Problem

To the Editor: I am a lifelong, natural born citizen of the United States of America who takes very seriously the liberties granted under the US Constitution, especially the constitutional right to vote one’s conscious. I voted early and almost completely of my own free will.
