Too Much Correctness

To the Editor:

With all the rush to remove statues and street names in cities and states with a liberal culture maybe they need to look at all their politically insensitive names that maybe should be changed to reflect these cities and states political leanings.

A few examples of such renamings might include names like Massachusetts or Arapahoe County, Colorado. Let’s not forget Seattle. So many names of Native American origin that should be considered for change especially since the liberal left is so intent on cleaning a portion of the American Civil War. The liberal left has looked to sports teams with Native American names so maybe they need to look at their own doorsteps and see that they have many such names that may need to be modified.

We have seen on the news about removing statues or names of streets in order to remove any blemish that may make someone feel uncomfortable. Somehow, I really don’t understand how someone can get emotional over a street name that they find offensive, when they really don’t know who the street was named for in the first place.

I would like to think that this country has greater issues to be concerned about other than a street name.
