Parade Kicks Off Muldoon July 4th Celebration

Muldoon will be celebrating Independence Day on Saturday, July 6. The celebration will begin with a parade with line up at 8 a.m. Everyone is invited to join in the fun and participate in the parade. You can walk, ride, drive, dance or if you are really wanting to go big, a float. It is always fun and the parade will start at 9 a.m.

It’s time again for the annual Round Top Fourth of July parade. The “longest continuously running parade west of the Mississippi” begins with the blasting of the civil warera cannon at 10:30 a.m.

Camp Lone Star Annual Picnic Set July 28

Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have their annual picnic on Sunday, July 28. The day will start with special music at 10:30 a.m. An outdoor worship service at 11 a.m. with the installation of Rev. Ryan Neuhaus as the new CEO, a BBQ meal at noon and the benefit auction from 1-3 p.m. are just some of the activities planned for the day. The swimming pool will also be open from 1-2:30 p.m. for those wanting to enjoy the cool water. Each year Camp Lone Star serves over 11,000 individuals through retreats, outdoor education and of course their summer camp ministry. This is a great event and a wonderful opportunity to show support for the camp and help it continue the ministry into the future.

Parents as Teachers Graduation Ceremony Held

On Thursday, June 6, Parents as Teachers of Rural South-Central Texas held their 2024 Future Stars: Dreams Take Flight Graduation and Awards Ceremony at Schulenburg Elementary School cafetorium. The ceremony kicked off with a spirited parade of graduates, followed by recognition, special song performances, and the presentation of PAT family awards.

Czech Heritage Society Holds Annual Piknik

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society (CHS) met on Tuesday, June 11, in the Hanslik Hall at TCHCC in La Grange for its annual Piknik. Members and guests enjoyed visiting and singing Czech songs while Jimmy Fucik accompanied them on the accordion. A meal consisting of sausage wraps, sides, and desserts followed the entertainment.

Winchester Civic Association Planning Fall Fun Run/Walk

The first planning meeting for the Winchester Scarecrow Fun Run/Walk was held this past week. The run is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26. All proceeds from the Run/Walk will benefit the Winchester Area Civic Association’s Scholarship Fund. More information will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.
