Carmine Lions Club Install New Officers; Community Dance Night Slated Friday

Come to a Community Dance Night on Friday, June 28 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Carmine Dance Hall. Sound by Lathan will be playing all your dancehall favorites, alltime hits and jams of today. Families are welcomed and encouraged. There will be free admission.

Carmine VFD 

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting is on June 27 at 7 p.m.

The Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser will be held on July 21. Fried chicken plates will be served drive-thru only. A drawing will also be held.

Remember to check your smoke detectors at any time to make sure they are in working order.

Casino Night Magic! 

Carmine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Casino Night Magic on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Carmine Hall. It begins at 6 p.m.

There will be a professional magic show by R.VEROTTI. A chickenfried- steak meal will be served by Gary.

Obituary 

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Kim Wunderlich Lewis, who passed away on June 9. She lived in Carmine in her early years and then moved with her family to Sheridan. Summers were spent in Carmine with her grandparents. She was a physical therapist in Minnesota and Arizona. She loved the outdoors. Her funeral service was held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on June 15 with burial in the Carmine Cemetery.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine ISD Administrative offices are open through Aug. 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Offices will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday July 3-7.

Martin Luther Lutheran 

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion observing the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy communion is at 10 a.m.

Recycling Trailer 

The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.

Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

Visitors’ Center 

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
