The monthly game day was enjoyed at Holy Cross in Warda. It is held the third Thursday of every month from noon-2 p.m. -

Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have their annual picnic on Sunday, July 28. The day will start with special music at 10:30 a.m. An outdoor worship service at 11 a.m. with the installation of Rev. Ryan Neuhaus as the new CEO, a BBQ meal at noon and the benefit auction from 1-3 p.m. are just some of the activities planned for the day. The swimming pool will also be open from 1-2:30 p.m. for those wanting to enjoy the cool water. Each year Camp Lone Star serves over 11,000 individuals through retreats, outdoor education and of course their summer camp ministry. This is a great event and a wonderful opportunity to show support for the camp and help it continue the ministry into the future.
Community Baseball
Serbin will play Flatonia at Flatonia on June 30 at 3 p.m. Last week Serbin Beat Weimer 12-9.
TWHS Scholarship
The Texas Wendish Heritage Society Scholarship Program is now open. This scholarship program is available to students of Wendish heritage. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school for Fall 2024 semester. Applications are available online at texaswendish.org and must be submitted digitally by 5 p.m. Friday, July 12. Tejas Camp and Retreat Center Tejas Camp and Retreat Center is busy with Summer Camp Season. Visit www. mytejas.org for events. Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross will be held Thursday July 18 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo, dominoes and board games are offered.
Sewing Circle in Warda The Sewing Circle in Warda meets every Thursday from 9-noon in the old Parish Hall of Holy Cross Church (entrance is behind the church). You do not have to be a church member to join this fun group of ladies and no experience is necessary. They cut, sew, tie quilts and enjoy some good food and fellowship.
Recycle Trailer
The recycle trailer is located in Warda at the storage facility off Hwy. 77.
If you need a place to take your aluminum cans, the picnic grounds at Holy Cross has a wire basket where you can put all of your aluminum cans. The money from these goes to the Trail Life Group and is used for projects for the group. They greatly appreciate your support.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

The Golf Tournament was postponed due to weather. The new date will be Saturday June 29 at Frisch Auf Valley Country Club in La Grange. Shotgun start at 8 a.m. and an afternoon flight. Visit their website for more information.
Faith Lutheran High School is raising funds to purchase a bus to help transport students to extracurricular activities and events.
They have already made significant progress and ask that you consider a donation to help them finish raising the needed funds to move forward with this project.
