At the Brazos Cross Country Meet Schulenburg’s Ruby Rodriguez medaled for the Lady Horns finishing 9th overall. The boys team finished in 6th place led by Alton Herzik who finished 29th overall.

The Fayetteville volleyball team competed at the Rice Tournament last week, beating Smithville and Louise, but falling to Boling, Weimar, Burton, Flatonia, Sacred Heart and Rice. The Lady Lions are now 8-15 overall and host Schulenburg Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The La Grange volleyball team won its final four matches at the Athens Tournament to win the Silver Bracket title at the tourney. The Lady Leps are now 11-14 overall and play at Bellville Tuesday in a dual match against the Lady Brahmas and Brenham.

The Schulenburg volleyball team improved its record to 13-12 overall after a runnerup finish in the Gold Bracket at the Goliad/Cuero Tournament over the weekend. The Lady Horns beat Beeville Jones and Three Rivers in bracket play before falling to Cuero and Goliad.

The Periwinkle Foundation’s Camp Periwinkle hosted 130 campers at Camp For All in Burton, for a week-long, overnight camp for children ages 7-15 who are currently being treated or were previously treated for cancer at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center and their siblings. Since inception, Periwinkle’s signature program — Camp Periwinkle — has allowed over 5,000 campers to experience a week of pure joy, freedom and emotional healing.
