Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Holding Easter Sunrise Service

Easter is fast approaching. The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is planning to hold special services for Easter. They will be starting off the day with a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. to welcome the sun and remember the reason that we celebrate Easter. Following the early morning service breakfast will be served in the pavilion. Pastor Butch will bring the regular morning message at 10 a.m.

Spring Fling March 30 in Winchester

The 7th Annual Spring Fling sponsored by the Winchester Area Civic Association will be held March 30 beginning at 9 a.m. with a pancake and sausage breakfast.

Birdie is a beautiful black shepherd mix. She is people and dog friendly. She knows basic commands and weighs 55 pounds. Dolly is a bully mix with a highly energized personality. She does great with male dogs. She walks well and keeps her kennel clean. Dolly weighs 52 pounds. Please call the shelter to set up a meet and greet. Both dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed. Also, remember to remind your family & friends of our barn cat program.

Annual Herbal Forum and Plant Sale this Weekend

News 

The 29th Annual Herbal Forum and Plant Sale at Festival Hill will be March 15-16. This year’s theme is “Cultivating, Creating and Cooking with Herbs.” The plant sale is Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday’s events includes talks on Yarrow, the Herb of the Year, dyeing with plants, and on pathways for connecting nature with homegrown wellness.

Senior Connections in Schulenburg has a new monthly calendar out and are excited about the speakers coming to our Center on Mondays to inform us of relevant issues. We have our Bingo callers set up on Wednesdays, there are some delicious meals that have been planned, and some great activities and outings to go to.

La Grange Chamber Hosts Entrepreneurship Symposium

The La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce hosted an Entrepreneurship Symposium at Casino Hall on Thursday, March 7. The keynote speaker was Michelle Savage, founder and publisher of Sulit Press, an independent book publishing business.

St. Rose Students Compete In Hallettsville

On Thursday, Feb. 8, St. Rose of Lima Catholic School students in grades 1-8 had the opportunity to compete at the Sacred Heart Academic meet in Hallettsville.

Cliffords Recognized By DAR Chapter

The John Everett Chapter DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and the Robert Rankin No. 62 SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) recognized Bill and Elizabeth Clifford for their American flag display for March. Their house is located at 1176 CR 285, Weimar. Bill said he was an Army veteran and that they were proud and honored to fly the American flag.
