Funeral services for Jacqueline Marie Albers, 91, of Ledbetter, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, with Pastor Doug Tipps officiating. Visitation was held on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, from 9 a.m. 8 p.m. and on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, from 7-10 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home. The family will be present for visitation on Sunday from 5-7 p.m.
Jacqueline Marie Buckner Albers was born and raised in the Catholic faith in Houston, the third of four children. She was blessed with a wonderful husband, William Albers, with whom she had two children, Billy Albers and Cynthia Albers Reyner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Pearl Hymel Buckner, infant sister, Ethel, older brother Aubrey, and younger brother Jimmy who she helped raise.
She grew up through some hard and lean times, during the Great Depression and World War II. She said they never had much but always had lots of love. She helped her family by selling blue bell flowers on the street corner and later working in concessions at Linder Lake Pool.
She graduated from high school and had some downtown office jobs in Houston before getting married. She was a stay-at-home mother for most of the children’s younger years and then went to work at Foley’s department store for 22 years in various positions until she retired. She and William moved to Ledbetter in 1995 and became loyal supporters of the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department. She was also a long-time member of the Ledbetter Homemakers club and St. Margaret Catholic Church Altar Society in Giddings.
She is survived by her two children and their families, Billy and daughter-in-law Emma; Cynthia and son-in-law Ron; four grandchildren and their families, Tara Badeaux, (Jonathan), Sean Mahan (Samantha), Veronica Ohlms (Jason) and Trey Reyner; and five great grandchildren, Jace Badeaux, Claire Badeaux, Max Mahan, Frankie Mahan, and Fenris Ohlms.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department, or to the charity of one’s choice.
