Muske

Elizabeth Mary Muske, known lovingly to family and friends as Elsie, passed away on Sept. 8, 2026, in La Grange at the age of 95. She was born on Feb. 14, 1931, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Joe and Sophie Kaspar. She married Burney Muske on April 13, 1953, in Fayetteville.

Elsie was a quiet woman with a gentle spirit. She believed in the importance of family and spent a large portion of her lifetime raising her family which includes her daughter, Margaret Peschel, and husband Jerry; her sons, Jerry Muske and wife Maria, Otto (OJ) Muske and wife Teri, and Edward Muske and wife Jean and her 12 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren, each of whom brought her great joy and pride. She is also survived by her sister, Annie Mae Sodolak; her brother, Leonard Kaspar and his wife, Lois and sisterin- law Josie Muske. Elsie treasured time spent with her loved ones. Her legacy of love and gentleness will continue to shine through the generations she leaves behind.

Her life was a reflection of the values she held dear, and she touched many hearts with her warm presence and compassionate nature. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Raymond and husband, Burney along with numerous family and friends. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Though her earthly journey has ended, the beauty of her life remains in the hearts of her family and friends.

Elsie’s faith was a guiding light throughout her journey. She prayed the rosary every night. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fayetteville and the KJZT Society #10, Fayetteville for over 75 years. In times of joy and sorrow alike, she leaned on the promises of her faith and shared that peace with others. Her enduring trust in God was one of the most meaningful parts of her life and a gift to all who knew her.

As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Elsie was a source of wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love. She celebrated the milestones of her family with heartfelt joy and offered support in times of need. Her legacy lives on not only in the generations she helped nurture, but also in the values she passed down through her words and example. The love she shared will continue to bind her family together and remain a cherished part of their lives.

Serving as her pallbearers will be her grandsons Jeremy, Dusten, Devin, Jed, Ethan and Jacob Muske and step-grandson Jonathan Zapalac. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters Jamilyn (Muske) Warren, Shanna (Peschel) Louis, Heather (Peschel) Tiemann and stepgranddaughters Jennifer Leon and Ashten Frashier.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange from 12-6 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends from 4-6 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Fayetteville.
