Patrick Lyons Takes Honor Flight to D.C.

Patrick Lyons got to experience a “Trip of a Lifetime” with Honor Flight. He was flown to Washington D.C. where he and other honored veterans were given a whirlwind tour of the city and their memorials. Pat was one of four veterans chosen to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Sentinel shook his hand afterwards. This is an honor usually reserved only for Presidents and visiting dignitaries.

Veterans Day is Thursday, November 11, 2021 and amidst the pandemic, there are fewer than normal local events to honor the veterans, but there are still ways to show your appreciation locally. Here are some of the planned events: LGISD Virtual Program • La Grange ISD has prepared a very special Veterans Day performance to show our veterans just how much they mean to us and to say thank you for everything they do and have done for our country.
