Lights, Camera, Action!

After a delay of a couple of weeks, the HBO series “Love & Death” is expected to finally begin filming Monday and Tuesday at the Cottonwood Inn Motel and La Marina Restaurant in La Grange. Expect delays if driving on Travis St. in that area those days. These classic cars have been parked in the motel lot as props for several days.

Knights of Columbus Council No. 2574 Makes Donation to Turtle Wing

Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, Assistant Pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut, and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.

La Grange Library Reopens Tuesday

The Fayette Public Library, Museum & Archives will reopen on Tuesday, February 15th at 10 a.m. The library redesign took several months as supply chain issues delayed the arrival of some of the items needed for the project. They are still missing some of the expected items but could not wait any longer to reopen.

Freedom Colonies Exhibit Opens at Brenham Heritage Museum

Brenham Heritage Museum opened a new exhibit in its Bus Depot Gallery on Saturday, Feb. 12. Entitled Freedom Colonies: Tracing Historic Black Settlements of Washington County, this wonderful exhibit explores the remarkable stories of former slaves and their descendants who established entire local communities following their Emancipation. Much of the African-American experience in those post-Civil War years remains little known, and the museum looks forward to introducing that history to a new audience.
