Two in Custody After Morning Traffic Stops

On April 9 at approximately 3:13 a.m. Sgt. Ryan Meagher conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Ford F-350 for a traffic violation on US 77 near Eblin St. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of cocaine along with a loaded .40 handgun.

The driver identified as Emigdio Landaverde Jr., 27, of Hockley was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

Shortly after at 3:24 a.m. Deputy Austin Moore stopped a 2000 Ford F-150 for a traffic violation on IH-10 westbound mile marker 674. Moore located methamphetamine in a magnetic box which was placed underneath the vehicle.

The driver identified as James White, 47 of Dayton was also shown to have parole violation warrant from Pardons and Parole for Possession of a Dangerous Drug. White was placed into custody for the warrant as well as a new charge for Possession of a Controlled Substance (second degree felony).
