Unanimous Tax Vote in Carmine

The City of Carmine held an election to reauthorize a 0.25 percent sales tax dedicated to street maintenance and repair. It passed by a vote of 12-0.

Food Bank Truck Coming to Waldeck May 16

The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be in the parking lot of Waldeck Lutheran Church on May 16 from 10-11 a.m. The location is near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145.

Food distribution will be drive-thru method. Clients need to clean out the back seats, trunks, and truck beds to make room for the boxed food. It is for Fayette County residents.

Baby Grand Piano From Germany Finds a New Home in Freyburg

An antique baby grand piano arrived at the Freyburg Methodist Church on Monday, April 27, after being stored in Spring for five years. Plum Piano Restoration Company, piano technicians, Marquis and Quinton Burkham, moved the piano for Vikki and Roger Warnken who have endowed it to the Church.
Roger and Vikki Warnken recently donated a piano to the Freyburg Methodust Church. The photo above their heads was donated to the church in the early years by Roger’s Great Aunt Mary Warnken.
