Food Bank Truck Coming to Waldeck May 16
The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be in the parking lot of Waldeck Lutheran Church on May 16 from 10-11 a.m. The location is near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145.
Food distribution will be drive-thru method. Clients need to clean out the back seats, trunks, and truck beds to make room for the boxed food. It is for Fayette County residents.
Carmine VFD
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department reminds everyone that if you plan a controlled burn, please call the sheriff’s office to give them your name, location of burn, and phone number. In Fayette County the number is (979) 968-5856. In Washington County, call the non-emergency number at (979) 277-7373.
RT-C School News
The Round Top-Carmine Bi-district baseball game was set for April 29 at Huntsville High School against Hull-Daisetta. The first game started at 7:30 p.m. The second game was to have been played on April 30 at 4:30 p.m.
The Round Top-Carmine High School sponsored a Career Fair recently. Presenters included Emily Baros with Germania Insurance; Sherry Murphy and a lineman with Bluebonnet Electric; Keri Stewart and Sara Behnke, Baylor Scott & White Nurses; Andria Smith, Trade & Leadership; Jeremy Smith, Entrepreneur; and Sara Patin, Geographic Information Systems. The school is grateful for each of them sharing their knowledge, experiences, and advice. Mrs. Wisch and the Career Prep team did a great job to organize the event. It gave students an opportunity to learn about different career paths and connect with professionals in our community. It made a lasting impact on our students and helped inspire their futures.
The sophomores and juniors had the opportunity to take a meaningful field trip to the Holocaust Museum on April 21. This experience gave the students a deeper understanding of history, compassion, and the importance of remembering the past.
The Baseball facilities at the high school in Carmine were recently upgraded with high netting and other improvements. Thanks to Round Top State Bank, Carmine State Bank, RT-C Booster Club, and other community members for their donations which made a difference for the student athletes.
Several banquets are coming up at RT-C. The Academic Awards Banquet is on May 6. The Athletic Banquet is on May 12 and the FFA Banquet is on May 19. All begin at 6 p.m.
May 11 is a student holiday and professional development day for staff.
May 15 is the last day of classes with dismissal at 12:30 p.m.
High School graduation and Eighth grade promotion ceremony is on May 22 at Festival Hill in Round Top at 6 p.m.
Decoration Service
The Carmine Cemetery Association will have its annual Decoration Service on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Church Annual Picnic
The annual picnic at Waldeck Lutheran Church is on Sunday, May 17. It is located at 6915 Waldeck Church LN, Ledbetter, TX. Barbecue pork steak meal with mashed potatoes, California medley, and BBQ sauce will be served from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per plate. Desserts will also be available.
Come for a day of fun, food, and fellowship and enjoy a country store, homemade ice cream, and games.

Bingo in Ledbetter
Bingo in Ledbetter has been changed to the third Sunday in May, which is May 17, due to Mother’s Day on May 10.
Doors open at 1:15 p.m. for seniors 60 and older plus guests. Play is from 2-4 p.m. A five-dollar card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Snacks and drinks are available for a donation.

Senior Citizens meet on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the Mission & Ministry Building. Meals need to be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Fifth Sunday of Easter is Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor.
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.
Recycling Trailers
The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted. Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload. Birthdays
