An 18-wheeler hauling two large containers of sand rolled on its side in La Grange on Saturday, April 8. According to La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath, the wreck happened around 7:20 p.m.

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

LG Council Trying to Fill New Vacancy

The La Grange City Council accepted the resignation of Ward 3 Councilman Dusty Littrell at a meeting Monday night, April 10. Littrell, a local insurance agent, told the Record that he recently took an additional job as a property insurance claims adjustor.

Opry to Feature Ken Brothers April 17

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, April 17 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange, Texas. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

Flatonia/Cistern Farm Bureau Meets

On March 21, the Flatonia/Cistern Chapter of the Fayette County Farm Bureau held its quarterly meeting. Jo Brunner, Vice-President of the Flatonia/Cistern Local, introduced the guest speaker. Richard Moring, Chief Appraiser for the Fayette County Appraisal District. Moring discussed how to qualify for ag use. Mr. Moring also talked about the property activity in the County and mentioned that some larger tracts are getting subdivided. He also answered questions from the members. At the end of his very informative presentation, Jo Brunner presented Mr. Moring a gift card. The meeting included a delicious meal prepared and served by Richter Catering. Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Vice-President, Jo Brunner, conducted the business meeting and door prizes were distributed.
