RT-C ISD to Hold Early Childhood Screening
The Round Top-Carmine Independent School District, in cooperation with the Round Top-Carmine Special Services Cooperative, will screen three and four-year-old children in the school district for the Early Childhood Program on Tuesday, Aug. 8, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Round Top-Carmine Elementary School located at 608 North Washington Street, Round Top.
This screening will help parents as well as teachers determine the child’s readiness for kindergarten. The Early Childhood program is designed to help children who do not have the skills necessary to be successful when entering school. It is not designed for the student who is meeting normal developmental milestones; nor is it a program for a child whose only need is to learn to speak English.
Professionally trained individuals participating in this screening include special education teachers, teacher assistants, counselors, educational diagnosticians and speech therapists. This screening includes questions and activities in the areas of fine motor, cognitive- verbal and gross motor skills. Approximately 60 minutes are required to complete the screening.
All interested parents should bring their children who will be three years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2023 or four years of age on or before Sept 1, 2023, to Round Top-Carmine Elementary School, Tuesday, Aug. 8, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
