Annual Lehmann Family Reunion Held in Warda

The annual Lehmann reunion was held on Sunday June 24 at the home of Doug and Lorie Lehmann.

Thirty-eight family members were in attendance. The traditional meal of fried fish along with sides was served. Aaron Lehmann traveled the farthest from Madison, Ala. Lovie Jones was the oldest attendee. George and Cora Berry were the longest married couple at 59 years. Youngest in attendance was Erika Berry- Bolen, daughter of Joel and Reiza Berry-Bolen.

A silent auction was hosted by Cindy Wooley and Kim Devos. Special note was made that this year is the 17th anniversary of Kim Devos donating a kidney to Nicole Poppenhusen. Special remembrance was made for Roger Berger and Gayle Berry who passed away this year.

The next reunion will be held on July 13, 2024.

FLHS Oktoberfest

Save the date for Faith Lutheran High School’s Annual Oktoberfest Saturday Oct. 28, New this year will be the Battle of the Vines, in addition to the Battle of the Brew-both are home brew competitions, so start planning your brews tra-now. Returning will be the traditional German meal, domino tournament, cornhole tournament, music, kids games and lots of fun!

Faith Lutheran High School Summer Youth Camps are back, FLHS is excited to offer a variety of camps for youth this summer. Ages are for grades NEXT school year.

Registration for the 20232024 school year for Faith Lutheran High School is underway. If you would like to become part of the Falcon family, call (979) 242-2889 or visit the website at www.flhstx. org for registration information. The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 16.

Camp Lone Star Picnic Camp Lone Star will have their annual picnic on Sunday, July 30. The day will include the new dining hall dedication at 9:45 a.m., music starting at 10:30, an outdoor worship service at 11 a.m. led by Rev. John Karlee (Lead Missionary and Campus Pastor at University Lutheran Chapel in College Station.) A barbecue meal will be held at noon, and the benefit auction will be from 1-3 p.m. The swimming pool will also be open from 1-2:30 p.m. for those wanting to enjoy the cool water. Each year Camp Lone Star serves over 11,000 individuals through their retreats, outdoor education, and of course, their summer camp ministry. This annual event is a great opportunity to show support for Camp Lone Star and help it to continue the ministry into the future.

Holy Cross News

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Pastor Beck is leading a midweek Bible Study on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross in the family room. All are welcome to be a part of this conversation.

The Ladies Stamp Program at Holy Cross in Warda is coming to an end and they ask that anyone having stamps to turn in would do so by Oct. 1, so they can get them sent in to the Texas District Stamp Program. They can be brought to the church office, dropped off in the designated box in the hallway, or mail to Lisa Gay, P.O. Box 141 Warda, TX. 78960.
