Shelter Offers Discount Voucher to Spay/Neuter Your Pets

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 28 weeks into 2023 and have an average intake of 33 animals a week. As of July 14, total intake is 946: 449 dogs and 497 cats in need. As of July 14, the shelter has 118 animals in care: 49 dogs/69 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Stray dogs and cats running at large present a health hazard for Fayette County citizens. Spay and neuter is the only way to manage the stray, unwanted dog and cat population in Fayette County. The shelter offers a discount voucher program to the citizens of Fayette County for the spay/neuter of family pets. Call (979) 966-0021 for more information.
