Watch Out for Snakes!

Gayle and Rick Schielack spotted this copperhead curled up in Rick’s shoe Friday morning outside their home on FM 609 outside La Grange – thankfully before he put the shoe on. It was the second close call in as many days for them. Gayle got too close to comfort to another one Thursday while gardening.

ArtWalk Opens Its 19th Year in Fayetteville

This weekend, Arts for Rural Texas will host the 19th annual ArtWalk Art and Music Festival on Fayetteville’s historic courthouse square. The event opens to the public on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Sunday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event showcases artwork by artists from across the nation. Participants will offer their works in various media including oil paint, acrylic, pastel, photography, pottery, jewelry, ceramics, mosaics, assemblage and more.
